The Ubud horoscope truth

On one of my last nights in Ubud, a friend pulled out a local paper and began reading out horoscopes as we sipped on our fruit lassies around the table. When she read my Pisces horoscope aloud, I was speechless.
Here’s what it read:
‘Neptune is joined by Saturn this fortnight and brings a breath of fresh air in the form of something solid taking shape in your life. It could be the emotional support that you have been asking for or it may be more in alignment with your spiritual requirements.  You and everyone else has been releasing so much on so many levels recently and now is the time to solidify an aspect of your life or your beingness.  The journey is more an unravelling than a doing and more and more you feel flow taking your life in the direction of your higher aspirations and in alignment with a higher will.  It’s not so much about surrender as it is allowance.’
As I let the words sink in, I reflected on the progress I had made in recent weeks on my journey objective of defining Doing vs Being. Meditation and my time with the Balinese had definitely deepened my understanding of Being. I had become more comfortable taking time out of my busy travels schedule to sit and relax with a book or spend a morning communicating via emails or sleeping in (a few months ago, I wouldn’t have dreamed that I would actually sleep in on a sunny day in Bali…but I have grown to allow myself to do it when I need to. AND, I don’t feel guilty about it!)  Conquering Mt Rinjani and completing my PADI open water certificate had brought a sense of challenge and accomplishment into my Doing definition. It seemed that just travelling was enabling me to explore and stretch these definitions.
For you reading this right now, at this very moment, perhaps take a minute to reflect on your personal definitions of Being and Doing. How do you define each?  How much Doing vs Being will you do today?
